Hazards to Marine Turtles

Through its Burning Issues assessment, the MTSG has identified five major hazards to sea turtles. These five hazards are considered the most significant hazards that endanger sea turtles. If uncontrolled, they will result in decline, local extinction and / or prevent recovery of sea turtles. These five hazards are:

1. Fisheries Impacts
2. Direct Take
3. Coastal Development
4. Pollution and Pathogens
5. Global Warming
