ANNOUNCEMENTS

IV Mediterranean Conference on Sea Turtles
Nominations Committee of the Mediterranean Conferences.
Call for organisers

Dear all,

As you know, the Nominations Committee of the Mediterranean
Conferences on Marine Turtles must announce the location and the
president of the FOURTH MEDITERRANEAN CONFERENCE during the Third
Mediterranean Conference, to be convened in Yasmine Hammamet,
Tunisia, 20-23 October 2008.

The basic criteria to be eligible as organiser of this event are:

1. Availability of one person, known to the sea turtle community,
with willingness and organizational skills to become "president" of
the conference, i.e. to undertake all responsibilities in fund-
raising, programme, proceedings, finances, etc.
2. The eligible "president" should have adequate institutional
backing (legal body), the main use of it being availability in
receiving money and clearing up the finances in compliance with the
accounting procedures in the respective country.
3. Availability of an appropriate facility (i.e. conference venue &
hotel), close to international airport.

In case there will be more than one application, submitted by
different countries, there will be preference for the country where
the conference was not hosted before.

If you wish to SUBMIT A PROPOSAL, please:

SEND A LETTER/E-MAIL WITH A DETAILED PROPOSAL TO AT LEAST TWO OF THE
MEMBERS OF THE NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE (contacts bellow). Indicate your
institution, position, contact information, brief description of your
organising plans and fund-rising possibilities.

Please note that:

THE DEADLINE FOR PROPOSAL SUBMISSION IS 1st SEPTEMBER 2008.

We encourage all of you, interested in organising this important
event for sea turtles and sea turtle researchers and conservationists
in the Mediterranean Sea, to submit your proposals within the above
deadline.

If you have any questions we will be happy to assist you.

Best regards
