Olive Ridley |
The olive Ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) is found in tropical waters throughout the South Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. This turtle is listed as Endangered by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and has seen significant reductions in population size in recent years.
The olive Ridley is named for its olive-green coloration and ranges in size from 35 to 50kg.
L. olivacea is also known as chelonée olivâtre(French) and tortuga golfina(Spanish). (from Pritchard and Mortimer)
